On this episode of METALKAST Larry and Rog have the honor of talking with Mat Sinner of Primal Fear, Sinner, When Rock Meets Classic, Voodoo Circle, and most recently Silent Force.
Mat hit the scene back in 1982 with his band Sinner, since then he has been keeping busy with numerous bands and has become a producer.
In 1997 he formed Primal Fear with singer Ralf Scheepers; to date they have released 11 records, 10 studio and 1 live with sales increasing every year..
On this episode we are talking mainly about Primal Fear’s latest release Delivering the Black released through Frontiers Records on 24, January 2014.
“Delivering The Black” sold around 1,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, charting at #16. Around the world this record has been well received.
Charting in other countries:
PRIMAL FEAR’s previous effort, 2012’s “Unbreakable”, opened with around 600 units in the United States. It landed at position No. 44 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
We’re also playing a song from Mat’s other band Sinner, Touch of Sin 2 released through AFM Records on 10 September 2013.
Primal Fear is on tour now and will be kicking off their US leg on April 29th, 2014 in Baltimore, Maryland and ending May 24th in Rochester, New York.
Mat is a returning guest, I first interviewed him on the METALKAST video show in 2009 so be sure to look for that episode as well.
Mat is a hard working, never stop kind of guy. He’s inspiring to me in many ways as a successful and inventive musician in addition to being a prolific songwriter and producer.
So with that here is the mighty Mat Sinner introducing the first song.
